Every Keyboard Shortcut in MarkdownTools

Power users rejoice — every action is one keystroke away. Here's the complete reference.

MarkdownTools is built for speed. Every primary action has a keyboard shortcut.

Export Shortcuts

  • Cmd/Ctrl + Enter — Export as PDF (primary action)
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + H — Export as HTML
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P — Export as PDF (alternate)

View Shortcuts

  • Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + F — Toggle fullscreen preview
  • Escape — Exit fullscreen

Appearance Shortcuts

  • Cmd/Ctrl + T — Cycle through themes (Clean → Classic → Elegant)
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + D — Cycle color mode (Dark → Light → System)

Editor Shortcuts

  • Cmd/Ctrl + Z — Undo
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z — Redo

Tips

All shortcuts use modifier keys (Cmd on Mac, Ctrl on Windows/Linux) to avoid conflicts with screen readers and browser defaults.

Hover over any button to see its shortcut in the tooltip. The shortcut symbols automatically adapt to your platform — ⌘⇧H on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+H on Windows.
